About Amy

Coach. Facilitator. Speaker. Podcast Host. AuDHDer.

For a long time, I thought being adaptable was one of my greatest strengths.

Like many people, I became very good at reading the room, meeting expectations, and figuring out how to fit into different environments (mostly through trial and error, but I kept that pretty well hidden).

On the outside, this looked successful. Capable. High-achieving. The person who kept everything running and held it all together for everyone else.

What was less visible was how easily I lost connection with myself in the process.

I spent so much of my life trying to be liked and accepted and attempting to avoid disappointing others that I rarely stopped to ask myself what I needed, what mattered to me, or who I was underneath it all.

The answers to these questions didn't arrive all at once.

They emerged through relationship breakdowns, solo travel, career changes, burnout, losing loved ones, perimenopause, a late ADHD diagnosis, exploring my autistic identity, and eventually packing up my life with my husband and dog to travel Australia full-time.

They also emerged through doing the work. Investing time, energy and money into my own healing, growth and self-understanding, while remaining endlessly curious about what makes us human.

Each experience challenged old assumptions, deepened my self-understanding, and helped me reconnect with parts of myself I'd spent years overlooking.

Today, I bring those experiences, lessons and insights into the work I do with others.

Whether I'm coaching, facilitating, speaking, writing or hosting a podcast conversation, the goal is the same:

Helping people feel seen, understood and less alone.

What's the meaning behind the Wise Owl ?

When I started Wise Owl in 2016, I was predominantly focused on supporting people with their careers through resumes, interview preparation and job search strategy. I was drawn to the owl for the qualities people commonly associate with it: wisdom, knowledge, learning and insight.

Over time, I discovered there was a deeper symbolism behind the owl that resonated with me too.

Across many cultures, the owl is associated with intuition, perspective, the ability to see what others might miss, and the wisdom and awareness to navigate uncertainty.

Looking back, those themes have shaped both my own journey and the work I do today. Creating space for people to better understand themselves, navigate change, and draw on both their own wisdom and the shared wisdom of others.

Beyond coaching, I'm passionate about contributing to causes and conversations that help people feel seen, supported and less alone.
